Project Overview
Project Brief
Developed for a Middle Eastern client, this 130-set custom watch display stand combines a matte-painted MDF structure with a removable 15.6-inch Full HD LCD screen. Each set includes 70 adjustable black dip-coated metal C-ring holders positioned within aluminum channels, while modular side platforms and a detachable back panel support flexible retail layouts and easier assembly.
This project involved the development of a high-capacity custom watch display stand for a client in the Middle East. The objective was to combine 70 adjustable watch positions with digital brand content in one coordinated retail counter display, while keeping the main components removable and practical for assembly.

The Client Requirement
The client required a premium watch presentation system that could display a large watch collection without making the layout appear crowded. The display also needed a digital screen for presenting brand visuals and promotional content directly above the merchandise.
A permanently fixed one-piece structure would have made the product more difficult to arrange and service. DNY DISPLAY therefore developed the fixture with a removable LCD back panel, separate side platforms and adjustable watch-holder positions.
The selected white and gray color combination, together with a matte-painted finish, created a clean and modern appearance suitable for a premium watch retail environment.
Modular Matte-Painted MDF Structure
The main display body is manufactured from MDF and finished with matte paint. The gray lower sections provide visual support, while the white upper platforms create a brighter presentation surface around the watches.
The central section uses a two-level base construction. Its lower gray MDF base incorporates an open connection area that receives the left and right display platforms. The side platforms can therefore be positioned within the central structure instead of being permanently joined to it.
Above the gray base, the white display modules form a stepped presentation layout. The separate central and side sections create different display heights while maintaining one coordinated visual system.
Adjustable System for 70 Watches
Each completed display set includes 70 black dip-coated metal C-ring watch holders. For the full 130-set production order, a total of 9,100 individual C-ring holders were required.
The white MDF display panels are manufactured with routed horizontal slots. Aluminum channels are fitted inside the slots, allowing the C-ring holders to be inserted and repositioned along the display surfaces.
This adjustable system gives the retailer greater control over watch spacing and product arrangement than a fixed-hole structure. The same channel system is used across the central and side platforms so the complete collection can be arranged within one consistent layout.
Removable 15.6-Inch Full HD LCD Screen
The display incorporates a 15.6-inch LCD screen with 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution and a 16:9 display ratio. Digital content can be supplied through USB 2.0 or an SD card, while HDMI input is also available.
The LCD module measures approximately 396 × 228 × 28 mm. It is integrated into a matte-painted MDF backboard measuring approximately 440 × 450 × 15 mm, creating a unified screen and product presentation area.
The LCD back panel is secured to the central base with removable screw fasteners. This allows the electronic panel and the MDF display structure to be separated when required for assembly or servicing.
The screen operates on 12V DC through a power adapter that accepts AC 100–240V at 50/60Hz. This electrical configuration was confirmed as part of the LCD integration for this project.
Custom Branding and Surface Finish
The customer branding was applied through silk-screen printing. The logo position was coordinated with the LCD back panel and lower display platforms so that the brand remained visible without competing with the watches or digital content.
Maintaining a consistent matte finish across the white and gray MDF components was also important because the completed order included 130 sets. The separate modules needed to appear as one unified retail display after assembly.
From Initial Inquiry to 130-Set Production
The complete project took approximately seven months from the initial inquiry through technical discussion, drawing development, sample production, confirmation and completion of the 130-set production order.
The development stage covered the MDF structure, removable connections, LCD integration, aluminum channel positions, C-ring holder arrangement, colors, finish and silk-screen printed branding. After the sample and construction details were confirmed, the approved specifications were carried into production.
The seven-month period represents the complete development and purchasing cycle for this particular project rather than a standard manufacturing lead time. The schedule for a new display will depend on its structure, electronics, quantity, sampling requirements and approval process.
The Completed Watch Display Solution
The finished display combines physical watch merchandising with digital content in one coordinated counter fixture. Its stepped platforms create visual separation between different watches, while the movable C-ring holders allow the spacing to be adjusted across the display.
The detachable LCD back panel and modular side platforms make the structure more practical than a permanently fixed one-piece display. At the same time, the white and gray matte finishes create the premium appearance required for the client’s retail environment.
Planning a Similar Custom Watch Display
Buyers planning a similar custom watch display can use this completed project as a structural reference.
For a broader planning checklist covering screen selection, media updates, power supply, cable routing, removable construction, prototype testing and production control, read our guide on how to plan a custom retail display with an LCD screen.
Every new display is reviewed according to the watches, retail space, brand guidelines, required quantity and delivery schedule rather than copied directly from an existing client project.
To begin a new project, the most useful information includes:
- Watch dimensions and required holder quantity
- Available counter or retail display space
- Preferred overall display dimensions
- LCD screen size and required media functions
- Logo artwork and brand color references
- Preferred materials and surface finishes
- Target order quantity and delivery country
DNY DISPLAY can review these details and develop the structure, materials, electronics, prototype and production direction for a new made-to-order watch display project.
