Custom Freestanding Logo Sign with Brushed Champagne Gold Finish

Project Brief

This custom freestanding logo sign was developed for a U.S. retail client that required a premium, double-sided brand sign for an in-store environment. The objective was to combine a slim vertical profile with a stable floor-standing structure, a refined champagne-gold finish and a gray marble-effect presentation surface.

The completed sign measures 356 mm wide × 457 mm deep × 1,534 mm high, approximately 14.0 × 18.0 × 60.4 inches. It combines a welded stainless-steel structure, HPL-faced MDF panels and raised acrylic logo lettering.

The Client Requirement

The client required a high-end floor-standing logo sign that could present the brand clearly inside a retail store while also complementing the interior design.

The sign needed a slim vertical shape, a stable floor footprint and a premium surface finish. Because it could be viewed from more than one direction, both sides required a complete presentation rather than leaving an unfinished rear surface.

The combination of warm champagne-gold metal, gray marble-effect panels and raised logo letters was selected to create a distinctive but restrained appearance suitable for a premium fashion retail environment.

Welded Stainless-Steel Frame

The upright assembly measures 356 mm wide × 1,524 mm high × 29 mm deep. Its surrounding frame is welded from 3 mm stainless steel.

The stainless-steel construction provides the strength required for the tall and narrow sign while maintaining a clean profile. Frame alignment and welding quality were carefully controlled because the straight metal edges remain visible from multiple viewing angles.

Accurate metal fabrication also ensures that the front and rear MDF panels fit correctly inside the completed structure.

Stable 10 mm Stainless-Steel Floor Base

The low-profile floor base measures 356 × 457 mm and is manufactured from 10 mm-thick stainless steel. Its wide footprint provides stability for the 1,534 mm-tall sign without making the overall structure appear visually heavy.

The base receives the same brushed champagne-gold electroplated finish as the upright frame. Black felt is applied beneath the base to reduce direct contact between the stainless steel and the retail floor.

Double-Sided Marble-Effect MDF Panels

The central display area uses two purpose-built MDF components with different thicknesses and fixing methods.

On the front, a 9 mm MDF panel is adhesively fixed into position. On the rear, a 15 mm MDF panel is machined with a 20 × 3 mm rebate and secured to the stainless-steel frame with M4 screws.

This construction provides an accurate fit while allowing the rear panel to be mechanically fixed to the metal structure.

Both outward-facing surfaces are finished with a 1 mm gray marble-effect HPL decorative laminate. The HPL creates a consistent stone-inspired appearance without the weight of a complete natural-stone panel.

The cool gray marble pattern contrasts with the warm champagne-gold metal and provides a clear background for the raised acrylic logo letters. Panel alignment, edge finishing and the fit between the MDF and stainless-steel frame were carefully reviewed because the sign is designed to be viewed at close range.

Brushed Champagne-Gold Metal Finish

The welded stainless-steel frame and 10 mm floor base received a champagne-gold electroplated finish.

A controlled brushed texture softens reflections and gives the exposed metal a more refined retail appearance than a highly reflective mirror finish. The brushing direction and champagne-gold tone were kept consistent across the vertical frame and floor base.

During prototype development, the client was able to evaluate how the champagne-gold finish coordinated with the gray marble pattern under actual lighting conditions before the approved surface treatment was transferred into mass production.

Double-Sided Raised Acrylic Logo

The custom branding is produced as separate 2 mm-thick raised acrylic logo letters and bonded to both sides of the sign.

The specified matte black-gold surface has an antique-bronze-style appearance. It gives the lightweight acrylic letters a warm metallic effect while maintaining a clean and precise logo shape.

The vertical logo arrangement turns the narrow panel into a distinctive brand feature while leaving enough visible space around the lettering to show the marble-effect surface.

Letter spacing, vertical alignment, surface consistency and bonding strength were reviewed during sample approval. These details are especially important on a minimalist retail logo sign because small differences can be noticeable across the full height of the display.

From Prototype to Mass Production

The complete project took approximately six months from the initial inquiry through quotation, material and structural discussions, engineering review, prototype development, sample approval and completion of mass production.

The prototype stage was used to confirm:

• The 356 × 457 × 1,534 mm overall dimensions
• Stability of the 10 mm stainless-steel base
• Alignment of the welded stainless-steel frame
• Fit of the front and rear MDF panels
• The 20 × 3 mm rear-panel rebate

After these details were approved, the confirmed dimensions, materials, colors, finishes and assembly methods were transferred into mass production.

The six-month period represents the complete development and purchasing cycle for this specific project. It should not be considered a standard production lead time for every custom sign.
